It was a peaceful morning when Bibi started limping slightly after waking up from his nap. He winced each time he tried to walk, and his playful energy seemed to disappear. Seeing this, Uncle Phong quickly came over with concern in his eyes.
“What’s wrong, Bibi?” he asked softly, kneeling beside him.
Bibi rubbed his leg and gave a small whimper, pointing at the sore spot. Uncle Phong gently examined it and nodded. “Looks like you’ve strained it a bit. Don’t worry, I know just what to do.”
Without wasting time, Uncle Phong went into the kitchen and returned with a bundle of special herbal leaves that he had prepared many times before. These traditional herbs had been used by elders in the village for generations to ease swelling and pain.
He carefully heated the leaves over warm steam, wrapping them gently in a soft cloth. The warm herbal compress had a pleasant, earthy smell that immediately soothed the room. Uncle Phong then placed the warm cloth gently on Bibi’s leg, holding it in place with care.
Bibi relaxed at once, his eyes closing as the warmth seeped into his sore muscles. “Ahh…” he sighed, feeling much better already.
“You’re going to be okay, little one,” Uncle Phong said with a smile.
After a few rounds of treatment, Bibi was able to walk a little better. Thuy brought him a light snack, and Bibi gave her a happy nod, his tail wagging slowly.
