It was a bright morning, and laughter filled the house as Thuy gently brushed little Lu’s fur and helped her into a new dress. Lu giggled happily, enjoying the extra attention. But just behind the doorway, Lala peeked in quietly, watching everything with wide eyes — and a growing pout.
Lala, who was usually Thuy’s little shadow, felt something she didn’t quite understand. Her tiny hands clutched her toy tightly, and she sighed. For the first time, she felt a bit… left out.
She slowly walked over to her corner and sat quietly, pretending to play. But her usual joy was missing. She glanced over as Thuy hugged Lu, and her heart sank just a little more.
Thuy noticed. With her gentle intuition, she turned toward Lala and smiled warmly. “Lala, what’s wrong, sweetie?” she asked softly, walking over. At first, Lala turned away, but Thuy knelt down and gave her a loving hug.
“Oh, my sweet girl,” Thuy whispered, “I love both of you so much.”
Lala’s eyes welled up. She wasn’t angry — just unsure. But when Thuy pulled her into her lap and kissed her forehead, Lala’s smile slowly returned.
Lu waddled over and wrapped her arms around both of them, giggling, “Group hug!”
In that tender moment, jealousy turned into love. Lala realized that caring for someone else didn’t mean being forgotten — it meant sharing love as a family.
That day, the house was full of giggles and cuddles. Lala even helped Thuy take care of Lu, brushing her hair and feeding her fruit. She felt special again — not just as Thuy’s baby, but as a big sister with a big heart.
So lovely, indeed. 💖
